General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

A job-oriented diploma pathway for students preparing for patient care, midwifery and hospital practice.

About the program

Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery, or GNM, is a three to four-year diploma in paramedical nursing education. Nursing and midwifery focus on providing care to individuals, families and communities through structured classroom and clinical learning.

The course generally includes compulsory internship or clinical practice. It prepares students for hospital routines, bedside care, health education, ward discipline and community healthcare service.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must have passed 12th standard (10+2) from Maharashtra State Board or an equivalent board.
  • Students from PCBE are preferred; arts and commerce students may be admitted based on merit.
  • Minimum 45% aggregate marks in HSC are expected.
  • 70% of total seats are reserved for girl students.
  • Married candidates can apply for admission.
  • Minimum age is 17 years and maximum age is 35 years.
